A visit to Perugia, the capital city of central Umbria and well known as the "choclate city", should be on your plan. This open and international university town offers very good shops, the famous café "Sandri" on the main street, several museums, the longest preserved Renaissance facade and the beautiful cathedral of San Lorenzo.
Other interesting attractions are the Rocca Paolina, an underground fortress, the "Palazzo dei Priori" (town hall), the Umbria Jazz Festival in summer and the choclate fair in autumn.
